Villa of the Birds

Villa of the Birds Alexandria discovered by the members of the Egyptian – polish mission . it was during their forty years of work at Kom El Dekka , Alexandria , Egypt . In fact , Villa of the Birds Alexandria has tiny intricate mosaic tiles of beautiful birds. Moreover, the are from the remains of a large villa that stood here dating to the reign of Hadrian. It really had a stunning mosaic floor in the main room depicting various species of birds. Villa of the Birds indeed is one of the best preserved examples of a large Roman house in Egypt . In fact, the villa destroyed with fire. Moreover, large sections of the mosaic tile floor have repaired and restored. Visitors must walk around a raised floor with over head shelter. In fact, it created to protect this beautiful workmanship . A group of archaeologists and conservators began the work at Villa of the Birds in 1998. It was to preserve and present the mosaics of Villa of the Birds to the public. The successful completion of the project was due to partnership between three major authorizations. Roman Auditoria, Kom El Deka, Alexandria, Egypt
Kom El Deka, or Kom el-Dikka, an archaeological site in Alexandria, Egypt, formerly a Roman residential area with late imperial villas, baths, a theatre and auditoria. In the foreground are some of the 22 auditoria, built 5th - 7th centuries AD, part of a university complex with lecture halls filled with benches. The Citadel of Sultan Qeitbay:
The Citadel was built in the 15th Century by the Mamlouk Sultan Qeitbay, To Guard the City against the threat of Crusaders, This wonderful Islamic Monument was built by the use of the ruins of the old Lighthouse that was constructed by Ptolemy 11 in the 3rd Century B.c. The Lighthouse was damaged during an Earthquake that Occurred in Egypt in 1303 A.c during the reign of the Mamlouk King  Qeitbay

► Day 5-Cairo Day Tour to Memphis Sakkara and Dahshur Pyramids
You will be picked up from your hotel by Marsa Alam tour guide to enjoy Cairo Day Tour to Memphis Sakkara and Dahshur Pyramids. You will start with the Step Pyramid at Sakkara, which is considered the world's oldest major stone structure. It was built in the 3rd Dynasty for King Djoser.
